Spend a weekend focusing on the Eisenhowers!
Enjoy a Friday evening presentation on the Eisenhowers by local historian Gerry Eak, a charming retired judge with a wealth of knowledge on the Eisenhowers' history and their time in Gettysburg.
Saturday, spend the day exploring Gettysburg at your own pace. The Eisenhower National Historic Site is just minutes down the road from the B&B and allowes self-guided tours of the farm grounds in the winter time. Gettysburg is also home to a wonderful WW2 museum which was just named one of the top 5 new museums in America by USA Today.
Saturday evening, enjoy a performance of Ruthmary McIlhenny's acclaimed one-woman show, “Mamie Remembers Gettysburg,” a 35-minute theatrical recollection of Mamie's first meeting with Ike, the trials and tribulations of marriage, war, politics, the presidency and their life together in Gettysburg.
Both of the twilight presentations will be accompanied by appetizers from Ike and Mamie Eisenhower's cookbook, "Five-Star Favorites." Guests may then head to one of Gettysburg's many wonderful restaurants to enjoy dinner on their own.
The weekend will conclude with an Eisenhower-themed Q&A session after breakfast on Sunday morning with Gerry Eak.
