Recipe: Barbara's Favorite Snickerdoodles

Ingredients
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp nutmeg
2 sticks butter, softened
1 1/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
Cinnamon sugar (1/4 cup sugar and 1 Tbsp cinnamon and 1/8 tsp nutmeg)
Instructions
Pre-heat oven to 375 F.
Wisk together dry ingredients.
In separate bowl or electric mixer, cream together butter and sugar until fluffy (up to 5 minutes).
Beat in eggs one at a time.
Mix in dry ingredients until just blended.
Chill dough for about an hour. Note: we tend to skip this step.
Roll dough into 1 1/2 inch balls.
Roll balls in cinnamon sugar and space on baking sheet about 3 inches apart.
Bake for about 12-15 minutes, until edges are lightly browned.
Cool on rack.
