Recipe: Pumpkin Pancakes with Dutch Honey
Pumpkin Pancake Recipe
The perfect breakfast dish to get you and the whole family in the spirit of the season
Ingredients for Pancakes:
2 Cups Flour
1/3 Cup Sugar
5 Teaspoons of Baking Powder
1 Teaspoon salt
1 Teaspoon Cinnamon
1/4 Teaspoon cloves
1/4 Nutmeg
1 1/2 Cups Milk
2 Eggs
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
1 Cup Pumpkin Puree
Ingredients for Dutch Honey Syrup:
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Cream
1/2 Cup Butter
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
Instructions:
Pumpkin Pancakes:
Sift dry ingredients (e.g. flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, etc.) together in a bowl. Mix all wet ingredients (e.g. milk, eggs, vegetable oil, vanilla, and pumpkin puree) together in a separate bowl. Combine both bowls of wet and dry ingredients and mix together. Heat griddle or frying pan over medium heat. Spoon batter onto hot griddle or frying pan and cook pancake until lightly browned.
Dutch Honey Syrup:
Mix all ingredients together. Warm mixture slowly on low heat. Then boil on low until mixture begins to thicken like a maple syrup. You should boil the mixture for 5 to 10 minutes. Serve hot over pumpkin pancakes.
